I used to lend my neighbor across the street my machine to do his house. He or I would clear the house next to me. The owner that lived there passed away and her son moved in. He's my age. Last year we cleared his house. This year he bought a blower and gave it to our neighbor across the street. So now I only have to do my own house.
If I wait my son comes with the FD and clears our house. They man the firehouse during the storm, then go and clear their homes after the storm when the roads are clear.

So if I don't want to I don't have to go out to clear snow.

It's hard to sit and do nothing when my neighbors are out there clearing their walks. The boys usually get here later in the day. They clear the chiefs and captains first. Plus they start farest from the firehouse and work their way back. I live three blocks from the house.
