Western Sound Bass Run

Headed up to fish with @Steve for the annual Western Sound Bass Run, and the action was incredible. We were into some of the healthiest striped bass you’ll find anywhere, with fish up to 32 pounds and three in the slot.

There’s something truly special about catching these beauties with the Manhattan skyline in the background and calm conditions on the water.

Funny. I thought the same thing as I unhooked a slot while cars were snarled in traffic on the Belt Pkwy crossing over the Mill Basin bridge...lol

Bass are truly a fun in inshore fish to catch. Don't need a fancy boat or a custom rod to catch em (but fluorocarbon leader does help at times )
