What An Insult!!!

Was at West Meadow in Brookhaven today. How big is the parking lot? Gotta be almost a quarter mile. They couldn't dump that mound of dirt anywhere else?
Its a parking sign that says "Reserved for Combat Wounded Veterans". Its at the main gate directly in front of the pavilion and handicapped parking.

Its small gestures like that sign that could make someone's day. I've seen it happen. We all cope differently over time. To be forgotten has got to be the worst.
I had a WWII come up to me in a store all agitated a few years ago. Out of the blue he asks in a stern voice "Do You Know What Day This Is?" Don't know if I subconsciously felt his pain but I knew immediately the answer. I said "Its D-Day". I got a thank god and a thank you and off he went.
So considering the gesture of what that sign stands for. That mound of dirt shows the absence of respect for what any soldier gave for the privilege to park in that spot.

8 working hours, well maybe not in Crookhaven, and no one there has yet to respond to my contact/complaint.
anyone near West Meadow that can give us an update ?

(in 28 years I never got deployed but this makes me sick to my stomach.) what could possibly have gone through the small brain of the backhoe or dump truck driver and their stuporvisors to have allowed this or directed this to occur?

I agree it's awful to be there but in all fairness, how do you know it wasn't illegally dumped there by some bozo that didn't want to pay to properly dispose of it??

Either way, i sure hope the town gets it the heck out of there ASAP!!

Hmmm. Looks like pretty clean fill to me, a lot nicer than those criminals dumped in Roberto Clemente Park.
