Whats on Tap?

Funny they advertise out of Montauk
I think they definitely brew there for local on site consumption- tasting room etc, but not all you see elsewhere for sale is from there
Wave Chaser has been my choice of late ........ not from Montauk ??? WTF !
i just happen to have a can in my empty pile?

My local guy said The Driftwood Ale is being discontinued. I hope not since I think it’s the best of all the batches. I like all the others as well other than the watermelon and hope they don’t ditch the ale for another fruity flirt with disaster.

Keeping it solid ales and ipa’s I think is a plateful consistent plan for long term success.

they could be brewing on site & shipping it elsewhere for canning - equipment to do that is expensive
I really doubt that for 3 reasons
1. Brewing in Montauk, transferring from tanks into kegs, then hauling it in refrigerated trucks to MAor elsewhere to can it there? Very cumbersome and unlikely.
2. Canning equipment is not as expensive as you think. Many small local breweries have them now. Long Ireland, Great South Bay, Moustache etc are all small local places doing everything on site.
3. This is the most important reason. Montauk is like an island. The water supply is limited. Beer production uses ALOT of water for both brewing and clean-up. I don't believe there's enough water for them out there to be producing the amount of product they are pushing.

Hence a good part of Montauks beer is brewed in MA.

I'm in no way trashing them at all because I like and drink their stuff regularly(y)(y)

Went and saw Dan at Long Ireland Brewery in Riverhead today and picked up a slim of Polish Town Pilsner and loaded up the kegorator(y)??
