Ah, the poor man’s lobster.
I myself like this better than lobster.
Absolutely HATE that BS, marketing-hype name of "Poor Man's Lobster" for monkfish, tilefish, wolffish, etc. None of them even remotely taste like lobster, but they all TASTE GREAT, and I eagerly prepare any of them when available.

The other "Lobster Lie" that drives me nuts is the "smaller lobsters are more tender and sweeter tasting than big ones". Total horseshit, something propagated by people too cheap to buy a bigger lobster. Bigger lobsters just have more of that wonderful lobster meat, enough that makes chomping down on the legs gets rewarded by a nice bit of meat.

At Chez Roccus, when we feel like monkfish, we get monkfish. When we feel like lobster, we get lobster and we never, ever get lobsters that weigh less than 1.6 lbs. If I want small lobster, I get crawfish.

Back in the corporate days, when we had to schedule off-site training sessions, meetings, etc., a few of us would always conspire to schedule the facilities with the best food to ensure maximum attendance...
