Tomorrow night's, or actually tomorrow afternoon's menu is refrigerator pickles again.
Hit the farm stand again for some Kirbys.
Mrs. Avenger was cleaning out her workspace and had a bucket-load of binders and document sleeves for loose leaf binders. So I took her pile of recipes and tried to organize it. I had also printed out the refrigerator pickle recipe on the uber color laser industrial printer.
What went wrong:
Last time we didn't have enough cucumbers. This time we had too many. So we had brine left over. Change of methodology left us with a few other potential issues, like the dry ingredients not being available for any extra pickling.
But we'll see what comes of this. Hopefully we can make enough space to use the two extra cucumbers and brine and make it all balance out.
Meanwhile, Tarjet had the Wide-Mouth Quart jar and extra lids for a reasonable number. So we picked up some spares.
That's a lot of Balls:
We're not going into the pickle business. Besides spares, these jars can be used to vacuum store dry goods to extend their shelf life. Unfortunately that Amazon plane that just crashed probably had the Foodsaver that I ordered on it.
