This time of year down here, some of those larger clams will = fresh bacala. Yum. Yum.
Oh, I wouldn't even consider wasting hard shell clams on cod, diamond jigs work just as well and keep the boat much cleaner. Regardless, I have a good supply of cod fillets from the fall season in the freezer, all caught w/jigs...

I did dig up a few skimmer clams in my digging yesterday, but I have a freezer full of brined ones, so they went back for future use.
