$9 per lb, worth every cent...

And before someone out there makes the classic comment, "The big ones are tougher and aren't as sweet as small lobsters." please remember that to someone living in Maine that translates into "I'm too cheap to buy a big lobster." That bug was sweet and tender, although any standard shell cracker can't handle that crushing claw, took my biggest pair of Vice Grips, the one that I keep in the kitchen for this very job.

Sometimes they don't cut it and it's out to the work bench for a visit to the vise... ;););)

is that a good price for Lobster? I haven't bought one in decades as I tend to go to King Crab when eating a "bug" strikes.

Baby potatoes & peppers, and chicken drumsticks on the Q, with creamed corn.

That's illogical, going for frozen Alaskan seafood when you're living in a year-round blue crab and oyster haven. Doesn't the Market Lady sell these local delicacies alive? There must be somewhere down there to procure these delicacies "on the hoof", even though with a little effort you could collect them yourself.

Why don't you just get the stuff fresh, grab your oyster knife, put the big Jimmies in a pot with Old Bay, boil 'em up, spread out newspaper on your picnic table, break out the mallets and cocktail sauce, and have a proper Chesapeake Bay Seafood Supper???

that wasn't what I asked sir - just wondering if $9 a pound is a reasonable price for lobster as I haven't bought lobster in quite some time - that's all I'm asking

I splurge on King Crab every so often because I prefer it over lobster.

It's reasonable. Although some area shoprites by me run a $4.99 a pound deal in the Fall. Mostly 1 1/4lb.
