We made a "pouch" out of aluminum foil and filled it with soaked wood chips and poked holes in it so it came out with smoky flavor too!! We do a lot of beer can chickens too.
Indirect heat at 350 per the gauge on grill cover.
Give it a try sometime
Unfortunately my co-op doesn't allow BBQ on our decks. Only electric ones. Hence why I have some cast iron pans.
