If you live in Coastal Maine and The Queen of the Castle makes a last minute royal decree for oysters on Mother's Day you have 3 options...

1. Pull out the CC and get ready to pay $38 for a dozen at a restaurant...
2. Pull out the CC and pay $30 for a dozen at a local oyster farm...
3. Or amble down to the dock and pull out 18 free oysters from the lobster car that's tied to your float. There's still another bushel or so of oysters in there, along with a bushel of quahogs...

I like #3 the best. $30 a dozen is almost as nuts as the $39 lobster rolls that the local restaurants are raping the tourist for...
