Whats on tonights Menu

Does breakfast count? I'm hooked on buttermilk pancakes. I make my own buttermilk with whole milk and two tablespoons of white vinegar. Delicious.

Mojoe. Looks like you've been in my pantry. I love buttermilk pancakes and making your own buttermilk is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. I used to throw out so much buttermilk. Now I make what I need.

They look delicious gotta love fresh dug clams
Cany. I love the whole process. I got up, dropped my Carolina Skiff in the water for it's first 2025 ride across the bay. Put on my waders, scratched up what I needed in minutes and went home. The clams were in clean sand and I didn't soak them for long. Like many here, I enjoy cooking and quickly they were turned into clams casino. Some are darker than others due to smoked paprika. Life's good.

how do you soak/clean your clams of sand?

how do you soak/clean your clams of sand?
When I dig in sand, I don't find much sediment in the clams but I still put them in a bucket of water and allow them to purge anything they want to for a few hours or whenever I'm ready to use them. The clams dug in a muddier bottom are usually soaked in a bucket of plain bay water for a few hours or overnight. If they are really dirty or they are steamers, I soak them in bay water with corn meal overnight.
