Just finished watching 2 part Ken Burns documentary on Benjamin Franklin.
Fascinating...didn't realize how much time he spent overseas advancing the Republic and Patriot cause.
Came at a cost to his relationship with wife and only son...highly recommended viewing it if comes back on PBS.
His views on slavery and getting the nation started without imploding from the start were genius...he figured out his prejudices towards the end of his life.
