it's more then Sciatica Mike...
- 1 slipped disc pinching off my sciatic nerve to my left leg making the leg numb from the knee down + knee pain - when I first wake up for all intents & purposes I can't walk - spine relaxes while laying down & then gravitty compresses it when I get up - takes me about 1/2 hour to walk the pain off - happened at the dentist office last month as I was laying down in the dentist's chair for a little over an hour. They had to help me to my feet .
- 2 bulging discs
- spaces between all of my discs when I bend over
- arthritis
and because of all of the above
Doc's going to be inserting rods, pins, screws into my back & then try to rebuild the base of my spine using stem cells amongst other stuff. Says it something like 6 hour proceedure.
Estimated:
- 2 to 3 days in the hospital
- 4 to 7 days at an acute rehab facility
- 4 to 8 weeks recovery at home
Tried one of those stretching videos - hurt like hell. Spine's too twisted.
Not sure how much mobility I'll have for a couple pf months but may need some some healthcare couple of times a week
Maybe some day I'll actually be able to fish again.
