Surprised theres no one thereA lot of WWII ship building history there… multiple cranes are painted in Navy Grey… piers looks good for crabbing… C22…
Red Hook ( NYHarbor ) may have been a supply / support terminal…. Cranes tell the story… C22…Brooklyn Navy Yard, not to stretch my brains here, BNY was nearer to Williamsburg Bridges East River, battle ship Missouri & Arizona were built there…
And the Monitor, along with many other important ships.Red Hook ( NYHarbor ) may have been a supply / support terminal…. Cranes tell the story… C22…

Interesting Maine story on the Arizona. After a major refit at the Portsmouth Navy Yard, which is actually in Kittery Maine, not Portsmouth, NH, the Arizona set out on sea trials near my home. It got caught in severe fog in the days before radar, GPS and Loran and almost ran aground on Monhegan Island...
True that, sad to see and a potential ecological disaster when the bunker tanks totally rot out. Currently the hulk is leaking 9 qts a day, out of around 500,000 gallons still on board!!I think it’s said, Arizona still bleeds oil at Pearl Harbor… cellfish…
