I was in Montauk at Gosman’s topside and took that picture of Last Mango. That’s Capt Vinnie LaSorsa heading into the lake and the boat is owned by Jimmy Buffet. That’s a 42 Freeman hull finished by Merritt boatworks a true one of a kind vessel.

I knew it wasn’t west Islip, but my old boss has a very similar boat and the same color and engine setup

Very cool. Buffet parks at Gone Fishing. In 2008 I had a transient slip there and docked next to a 42’ baby blue Rybovich. All teaked out with a fighting chair. Boat was named “Last Mango” from Key West. Got up to the bar and the bartender told me I was docked next to Buffet. Beautiful boat.

Montauk was always full of amazing boats and people who could just fade into the landscape of a historic environment.

My best years there were fishing with Capt. Jake Nessel on the Sport Fisher And the Marlin.
