As a guy who owns a Bridgeport, I'd call it the results of an awesome weird @$$ machine shop.

We took the kid to the open house and got the grand tour of the Synchrotron Lightsource II particle accelerator.

Some seriously impressive, brain-melting stuff there.

He's contemplating switching his major from Biomedical Engineering AND Physics, to Electrical Engineering AND Physics.

Since I have a bit of a hook there, I was hoping he'd pursue at least an internship.

Either way, it is amazing what the front, bleeding edge of science looks like.
