Another installment of Roccus Believe It Or Not, You Can't Make This Chit Up!!!

Look at the picture below. That's EXACTLY how I found a Little League baseball on my dock float this AM!!! There isn't a Little League Field within 10 miles of my house!! The nearest neighbor's dock is 300 yds. Shades of "The Gods Must Be Cray!!!"

I'm superstitious as hell about fishing, so I put the ball on the boat hoping that it is a good luck charm.

Anyone got any theories as to HTH it got on my dock. Surprised it didn't get blown off with all the wind we've had lately. Some ideas that others have provided:
  • A seal stopped by and wanted to play ball
  • A Marlin stopped by to drop the ball off
  • A clam digger dropped it off, why I wouldn't have a clue
Any other ideas as to origin and significance?????

OMG !!!!, Easy bud your letting the pressure get ya. Yer way over thinking it. Real easy to figure that out with logic not Black Magic or VoDo. A Gull picked it up and tried to open it buy dropping from way up. (A Hungry Gull) . How am i doing so far. :p

Don't listen to those other guys ^^^^ up there. I would Never. :giggle:

It’s an omen that the Mets are going to suck yet again. I know it’s a stretch but not as far as a Seagull making a pinpoint bombing. :)

Wouldn't look too much into the "how". More so the :why" Thats your question to answer. And if you feel good about it, enjoy, if not, chuck it in the pond.

Current hypothesis is someone's puppy left it there. Just so new and unused. Brother also used the Mets angle, Dad was a big fan and by dropping it down from above, a sure sign they will suck again.

Funny about your being so superstitious about fishing. I never knew. Hell you can whistle on my boat or say Pig or bring a ham sandwich or a peanut butter and Banana or any other of the gazillion superstitious stuff. I have disproved many of those to myself whilst eating a banana and catching a bigun. :)

Oh yeah, make me up a list of what bothers you and pm or e mail it to me. I wouldn.t want you jumping overboard if i started talking about Porkey Pig. :giggle:

I have my own set of superstitions, and since I grew up eating bananas while fishing, that's not one of them. Mine are pretty funny, most generated back on LI along with the older brother of a renown LI fishing author/blogger..

1. If you're going flounder fishing out in Orient it's good luck to see a rabbit; yeah this is an old one.

2. If your bass fishing out in Orient, might as well turn the car around if you see a rabbit, but hitting the rabbit is good.

3. Taking sacrificial, fishing "Virgins" with you is always a good thing, but they'll usually out fish you.

4. You need to have Devil Dogs and Coke, now Diet Coke, on board for a successful Night Plum Gut bass trip.

5. Besides wearing my lucky hat, ny boat has many good fortune talismans amassed over the years on board.

I'm so "rodent" centric I had a mini-crisis on the day we first went out tuna fishing on Old Mud. As I was driving up my peninsula at 03:00 there was a skunk in the middle of the road. Brain FLASHED "HIT IT or LEAVE IT????"

I didn't have time to call up and consult my co-conjurer so I went with my gut, "Hit it and the car will stink" and I swerved away. Must have been the right decision since I did catch my PB fish, albeit a "short" much to your dismay...
