Third Walking Dead Series Will Be “Completely Different” from Other Two Shows

AMC’s coming third Walking Dead series will be “completely different” from the flagship series and spinoff Fear the Walking Dead, says chief content officer Scott Gimple.

AMC’s coming third Walking Dead series will be “completely different” from the flagship series and spinoff Fear the Walking Dead, says chief content officer Scott Gimple.

Gimple co-created the series with Walking Dead veteran Matt Negrete, who will serve as showrunner. The untitled third Walking Dead series will follow two young female protagonist and explore the first generation raised after the fall of civilization.

“Showing audiences an unseen pocket of The Walking Dead Universe steeped in a new mythology is a very cool way to celebrate a ‘Decade of the Dead’ on TV and over fifteen years of Robert Kirkman’s brilliant comic,” Gimple said in a past statement.

“Matt Negrete is one of the best writer-producers in TWD’s long history — I'm thrilled to be working beside him to tell stories unlike we’ve seen before, taking our first step into an even larger world.”

AMC Networks president Sarah Barnett teased the series will expand the Walking Dead Universe “in new and exciting ways for our fans.”

The untitled third Walking Dead spinoff will premiere on AMC in 2020.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond boss Scott M Gimple has explained how the latest spin-off will address certain mysteries from the other shows.

During the horror drama's Comic-Con@Home panel, the executive producer revealed that the Civil Republic of the Midwest - the elusive, helicopter-owning group that whisked Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) and a heavily injured Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) away in the original show's ninth season will play a "huge part" in the newest outing.

"We found out a great deal about them," he told moderator Chris Hardwick, acknowledging how the organisation also showed up in Fear the Walking Dead's fifth season. "They are a very mysterious force, and the community they keep secure are incredibly secretive.

Starring Annet Mahendru, Alexa Mansour, Hal Cumpston, Nicolas Cantu, Aliyah Royale and Nico Tortorella, The Walking Dead: World Beyond takes place ten years after the apocalypse begins, and centres on a group of Nebraska-based youngsters who are the "first generation to come-of-age" in the new world.

"Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever," the official synopsis continues. "Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad."

ended up taking a son to ER in the middle of the night so my internal clock is way off and I did just watch this debacle. I stayed away from reading any reviews but I will give it maybe one or two more hours. (make that 40 minutes as I DVR almost all broadcast TV shows.) I realize Julia Ormond has gotten older but was earning meal money for this worth it ?

Jenn watching it I can say I paid attention to it for at least 15 mins It seems like a Sci Fi saved by the bell
