World Beyond

I'm sorta likin' it - need to give a few more episodes. I like the concept. These are kids who never knew "life before" - it's always been like this for them. If done properly could turn out to have some interesting perspectives on things.

It's also taking place in the current timeline we find the Walking Dead in.

Can anyone say "Crossover"?

On in 105.......

I can be such a nerd at times.
:)

interesting viewing last night....................

Anyone else pick up on the helicopters buzzing around?
This show is taking place along the same timeline as the mother show (TWD). Remember Rick was taken off in a helicopter? Remember Jadis told whomever is operating the helicopters in TWD that Rick was "B"?? Remember the "A's" that seemed to be showing up from time to time when prisoners were involved? Well they were showing up again last night.

Me thinks the World Beyond helicopters & the TWD helicopters are bring flown by the same people.

Setting up for a crossover next season when TWD come to a close? Perhaps we find out what happened to Rick & Michonne. Also think Maggie's return in TWD is tied into the same helicopter people.

Maybe I'm completely wrong?

anyone else pick this up last night?

'The Walking Dead' spinoff may have just confirmed how the zombie apocalypse started and it's a nod to a joke creator Robert Kirkman previously made

  • On Sunday's episode, a marine tells his comrades he heard the zombie virus was started because of a space spore.
  • Creator Robert Kirkman joked in January that the virus was started by the very same thing.
  • Kirkman has previously said he knows exactly what started the zombie outbreak in "TWD," but he never planned to reveal the answer because "it's dumb."

It's taken 10 years, but we finally may know how the zombie outbreak started on "The Walking Dead."

During a flashback on Sunday's "TWD: World Beyond," a marine named Owens shares how he believes the zombie apocalypse happened to his comrades.

"I heard it came back in a rocket, that it started in space," Owens said. "Somebody breathed it in, it turned their stomachs and then they got on a plane."

owens is told to "shut up," and the "space spore" theory isn't mentioned again. It's not clear whether the marine's gossip was just a rumor or the actual cause of the zombie virus. Earlier in the episode, a marine leader says the "source and nature of the current crisis could not be confirmed," so the space spore theory could be just that, a theory.

Regardless, fans may have noticed the significance of this small moment on Sunday's episode. It's a direct nod to something "TWD" comic creator Robert Kirkman said earlier this year.

The significance of the "space spore" line: Creator Robert Kirkman said the same thing earlier this year.

In January, a fan tweeted at Kirkman asking "what caused the zombies." The "TWD" creator gave a simple two word response: "Space spore."

Rick Grimes, is that you? AMC announced Thursday that The Walking Dead alum Pollyanna McIntosh will be reprising her role of Jadis/Anne for the second and final season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond (which premieres Sunday, Oct. 3).

And in the trailer that the network dropped at the same time, she’s heard saying, “I know that the Civic Republic is the last light of the world. My purpose is to create a new era on this planet. Hope we get to catch up while I’m here.”

But to whom is she saying it? Could it be Andrew Lincoln’s character, whom she had airlifted out of harm’s way by the CRM back in Season 9 of The Walking Dead? Seems doubtful, considering that he’s bound for the movies. Could another former Walking Dead regular be crossing over?

The World Beyond co-creator Scott M. Gimple said in making the announcement was that “in our story, years have passed — we’ll get hints of what happened with that fateful helicopter ride and learn Jadis has new allies and alliances; she is a big part of connecting the CRM and Three Circles mythology that’s seen throughout all three series.”

one of the better episodes last night - Jadis showed up & crossed over into the show....

Her character added a much needed boost. Let's see. The last time we saw her she evacuating on a helicopter with Rick. Wonder if we'll see Rick at some point? mayhbe Michponne? After all she's out looking for Rick.

WHOA!!!

This is why I stayed with it...

Good ending hinting at a lot of other things.

Bringing Jadis into the show really gave it a boost. Little too much. A little late.

But this was an unexpected reveal.
