So the other day I was fluking in an area that had plenty of sharks around. A few boats even hooked up on them. It shouldn't come as a surprise, as this is two or more years consecutive years of it.

It was blisteringly hot and it's tempting to take a dip in the ocean to cool off. This is exactly what one guy did just a few hundred yards from us and other boats that had reported shark sightings.

I ask, Would you take a 5-10 minute swim in those waters?

Not worth the risk, however slight it is. Bucket of water or saltwater wash down should do the trick.

I recall a coworker had friends on their boat and one of them decided to take a dip on a hot day just off the Second Wantagh. Idiot nearly drowned when he was carried off by the 5mph+ current there while the boat drifted away with the wind, lol. No sharks though.

I have done that often through the years whilst offshore. On those hot still days,flat ass calm. Not if i saw or marked sharks. Haven't done that for quite a few years now only because it's to hard to get back in the boat.

A bit off topic . . So Newsday reported that there were Sharks spotted inshore yesterday and swimmers were required to stay in waste deep water. Isn't that where most bites happen?
