I'm LOVING the Weber Grill Company!!

Chinacat

Well-Known Angler
My spirit 320 is about 7 years old now and we use the hell out of it year round.
The cast iron grates are rusted and beat up pretty bad as we cook alot of juicy sloppy marinated things.
I called them up last Monday and asked if under warranty. They look it up and say heck yeah!
I ask about flavorizer bars and they said no on them but sell them for $10 cheaper than HD or Lowes.
Since they going in order with grills under warranty, no shipping charges
Today a box of parts that would have cost over $150 with tax shipping etc shows up for a total charge of $43
I'm all excited, take grill apart to give it a full cleaning before putting in new stuff and realize burner tubes and parts rusted out pretty bad. I call them back, speak to an awesome rep and she asks for photos. I send same and she says, yep, you need all new burner, tubes including crossover bar etc and its all covered under warranty at no charge!!!!
They sending them out ASAP

All in all, I'm getting well over $200 worth of parts plus tax/shipping etc for $43 and I'll have basically a brand new grill!!!

I will never buy anything else other than a Weber and will stand on the mountain tops telling every one else to do the same!!!!!(y)(y)

Now I can keep posting in the grillin' and chillin' thread8-):p:D

There is only 1 other company that I was bold enuf to call to take advantage of their warrant/replacement policy and that was this small little outfit from up your way called LL Bean :p

I can honestly say I never took advantage of that policy. For example, I would be embarrassed to bring back any rods that I've broken because of my own stupidity, e.g. getting smashed in a door. However I had 2 rods from them over the years that honestly failed and I did bring them back. One, an LL Bean model, had its ferrule explode when I snagged bottom, and another, a non-Bean model, started to delaminate. No problems, they both got replaced, no questions.

They really went out of their way. Once I had a spinning reels that needed a new bail spring. Instead of sending me a spring, they sent me a new reel!!!!

Now the lifetime warranty is gone because of folks getting stuff at yard sales and returning them, wearing boots for years and returning them, etc. So thanks to all you folks who have no conscience...

WOW.
Am I imagining things or did you just have the balls to tell me I have no conscience??:unsure:
If you didn't take advantage of their policy that's your choice
Please don't judge me if I did. You have no idea whatsoever of the circumstances surrounding my decision to do so.....

read that again and I'm think you didn't mean that towards me??? (y)

Oh hell no, was just venting at my fellow New Englanders!! Sorry that you took it the wrong way, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa...

It took a face to face meeting with Customer Service to return ancient stuff so it was pretty much limited to folks who go to Freeport. Up here there was NEVER anything with LL Bean tags at garage sales or thrift shops up here because of the warranty. People made it a career to get old Bean stuff and bring it back. With the new policy, Bean stuff is starting to show up at those venues.

Watching the Customer Service Agents cheerfully work a couple of years ago was as entertaining as a Sunday afternoon at a busy boat launch. The were Saints!!

You wouldn't believe some of the stuff people brought in and got refunds for, threadbare shirts that were over 10 years old, dog beds torn apart by a frustrated puppy, etc. It was "insurance fraud" for the masses.

I, as well as reasonable folks like you, would have been embarrassed to try those type of antics. Yes, I brought stuff back, but merchandise that didn't perform well or had failures within a reasonable amount of time, in the spirit of Leon Leonwood Bean's original intent with that policy.

Two years ago I had a 8 or 9 year old Walmart special start to go. I decided to shop around. That fall we got a three burner propane grill from Lowes for the amazing price of $57. Still going strong but if I had the space I would have gotten both of them that were left.

ha, ya think cauz I’m a city boy I couldn’t partake here, “curbside free “... cellie...

Thanks Dom!!
I appreciate you taking the time to clear that up??
A couple of watermelon margaritas last night may have compromised my reading comprehension level LOL?‍♂️??

As for LL bean I did that one time only
I bought a pair of what were to me an expensive pair of winter boots that I figured I’d have for a long time given the fact here on LI they don’t get a lot of use. After 2 or 3 years and less than 20 days of use the sole delaminated and I sent em back?
