It is fun doing those crosswords and time matters not. As the week progresses and they become harder, I find myself wondering what planet the author was born on. As you said, "It's the journey" that's the enjoyment...
I'm thinking he meant an hour & a quarter.

The more I look after a breather the more my mind bends In the right direction. My biggest challenge is patience. I only do the the Print versions of the LA Times and some others. I’m old fashioned and I prefer doing them on paper, but I do visit Bill Butler’s blog on ‘Laxcrossword.com’.Decent performance for a Sunday, @WhatKnot, been working on it on and off all day between doing things around the house. I'm sure you're aware of the time units, but for some Nobel Laureates who bless us with their "wisdom", it's officially 34 minutes and 37 seconds.
Do you notice that if you put it down and come back later clues that drove you nuts early make a lot more sense? I know I can say the same if I have a Matilda or two before coming back to the puzzle...
