Sorry to hear about your family. Upstate NY hasn't been as effected as the city as of yet and I hope it stays that way. I spent a ton of time up that way in all of the largest medical facilities and they are top notch.

it's a useless exercise - it can come in from many directions - you ban travel from the UK & someone from Canada brings it in or Mexico or an air traveler from France who wasn't in the banned country but picked it up elsewhere - unless you ban all travel from all locations it's gonna come through eventually & even then there's no guarantee

Not really if you had any clue. The difference is that I am ALWAYS wearing protective gear like masks and face shields to protect me and the patients. I wear street clothes to work change at work then change back to street clothes to go home and once home take them off and shower.

there was a group of doctors nurses and surgeons on the boat early in the summer as things opened up , it was a private charter

Two of the nurses worked directly in covid wards

they were sharing beers
Plates of food and untensil
They were singing and dancing
Hell a few of them were passing around funny cigarettes

I asked them about their actions
Their words not mine
I’ve been around it , we’ve been around it for months , most of its bullshit and hype

now you can say or do as you wish , just realize that not all of your brethren agree with you

I’ve had my share illness, some may have even called for antibiotic or some other meds

I simply prefer to drink fluids Rest
And let my body fight

for better or worse and I take a ton of grief over it from friends and family , I ride it out

How about this. I had a charter boat captain and owner as a patient and he said its all 100% real and we should really be listening to the experts that say wear masks and social distance. His words not mine.

Well, here is my experience over the past eight months.

I speak to physicians, nurses, and many other folks in the medical fields. Its what I do. And NOT one of them acted anywhere near the way you describe!!

I will share comments as I remember them:

"No joke, this is serious"
"Protect your family the best you can"
"You do not want to mess with this"
"Patients were being intubated every 30 minutes last week"
"The sight of otherwise healthy people showing up and dying within days"
"Folks dying alone, cannot imagine"
"The sounds of people gurgling in the bed, taking their last breath"

Want me to go on? You need pictures too? I guess bodies in food freezer trucks outside hospitals show its all a hoax, correct?

Just a very simple thought.

You may want to think before posting about folks with professional licenses about how they behaved on a charter. I mean, really, it was just to push your agenda. Anyway, maybe I just misinterpreted "Hell a few of them were passing around funny cigarettes". If so, please educate me. Also, I am no expert, but maritime law is probably very strict about "funny cigarettes". Again, part of the reason for this site is education. So, please educate me.
 
Where is the updated list of states that NYers are not supposed to travel to? I spent 20 minutes clicking through the convoluted NY state Covid website and couldnt find it.

Based on what I'm seeing - it's any non contiguous state. From the advisory (link attached):
All individuals coming into New York from either a non-contiguous state or US territory, or any CDC Level 2 or Level 3 Health Notice country, whether or not such person is a New York resident, are required to complete the traveler health form upon entering New York. Significant penalties will be imposed on any individual who fails to complete the traveler health form.

1st Paragraph under the section titled Guidance for Travel

The contiguous stuff is pure bull, CT allows RI as a contiguous state (no quarantine). So RI can infect CT, and CT can infect NY - but RI can't infect NY.

Cause it’s horse hockey. It all started in a lab. Got out by accident or on purpose. Remember all the news coverage on what was going on in Hong Kong with the democracy protests? I do. Wet markets been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. They’ll never own up to it though. To compound it they stockpiled PPE and then sold when the market prices peaked.

My second grade teacher said it best “You can’t get the shit back into the horse.”

The science is fuzzy at best
And their are experts on both sides as well

I’ve got 3 families in 3 states with cases in their homes all with one positive and one or more negatives
Like I said the science is fuzzy at best and no ones an expert on this

It is strict and all I can do is tell them not to do it after or once I’ve seen it

And while maritime law is strict this is still 2020 and this is still liberal ny state with state law being so lax enforcing maritime law with clients gets increasingly difficult

coast guard is much more concerned with captains and crews who are all in random programs

clients no so much

concider yourself educated

I really have no agenda other than to show You
That not everyone’s on the same page with this
Not even within the scientific or med community

And it was a true representation no names were used and hell I couldn’t tell you their names if asked so no ones license was put at risk
