the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

About ten years...tank cleaned and water 1/4” change out regularl. Fish about 7yrs old....tropical. Fresh water. I have a good friend who inspects the tank once in awhile who has been in the business for his ever. Family biz.

He said condition of tank is perfectly fine and the life span of these particular fish is about average or even better than what he see’s.

He knows the name of them, they are not expensiv.... We got three of them around 7yrs ago for about $12bucks.

The women on Sunrise hywy where we got them knew we did not know what we were doin and made it easy for us.

The tank is a 38 gal. Octago, the fish have been very happy.
I will let the one enjoy the tank to himself as longs as he can and then go get three more.

?‍♂️

if ya wanna have some fun (for you - not the remaining fish) put a fair size Red Oscar in there & then let the family bet on when it gets eaten...

Anytype of cichlids would tear in to that loner. A red oscar might be too big for a 38g octo.

Next time get a mating pair of convict cichlids. Strong hardy and breeds like crazy. Feed em a couple of small guppies or other feeder fish once a week and watch em hunt em down for a meal. ?

Those green convict cichlids are fun. Had a mating pair for quite some time. They were cranking out babies like crazy. Gave everything away about 2 years back. Too much work.

I had two of 'em in a 30 gallon - they both got to about 6-7 inches then killed each other.............
