Covid 19 is no Joke!!!

I just found out I have covid 19, for the life of me I can't figure out how I got it, I don't go anywhere but to the Drs, I wear 2 masks all the time if I do go out, which is very rare.
Right now I have mild symptoms,I was at the Drs office last Thursday, they were crowded, I had both masks on and never took them off.
My wife and I are quarantined for 14 days, she is showing signs and is going to be tested tomorrow.
Wear your mask, wash your hands and use plenty of wipes,& hand lotion.
If you don't hear from me in awhile you can guess where I'll be.
I will let everyone know how I'm doing from time to time.
Stay Safe out there.
Jay

Hang in there Jay & Mrs. Jay!!

Good luck, once you get passed it come back and let us know you’re OK.

Good luck on a speedy and full recovery
Like many others that got it, I think its nearly impossible to know for sure how or where you got it unless you know for sure you were in direct contact with someone else that had it...

My dad, 96 years old, spent about 6 weeks in the hospital between Thanksgiving and New Years. (Nothing to do with Covid). A few days after he got out a nurse from Catholic Home Services came over came over to do an evaluation for further services. She wore a N-95 mask, while my dad and myself wore regular masks. I got a call the next day telling me that the nurse who visited had a positive test result. At my dad's Dr.'s advice, I waited a few days and we got nasal swabs at Jones Beach State Park. All negative. My brother who lives in the house was also negative and just to be sure, our neighbor who came over after the woman had left also tested negative. I spent the next week self quarantining anyway.

Thank God for the masks. We were sitting at the kitchen table 2 feet from each other handing papers back and forth.

Stay hydrated, eat good food, rest, follow Dr orders, and I wish you and the Mrs. a speedy recovery!

Unless someone can give me an alternative, you will not find me without a mask!! Protecting others and my family!

Get well soon

Here is an update, I am into day 7, my symptoms in the beginning were mild but progress into severe headaches, muscle pain, congestion, no fever or shortness of breath, unfortunately my wife has not been that lucky, I had to take her to Yale New Haven Milo Center in Trumbull Ct. for an Antibody fusion this morning, she has underlying problems, her Dr felt that this treatment would help keep her out of the hospital, she is back home.

As we both monitor our fever and oxygens levels, our older son lives downstairs in his own apartment, he comes up a lot to make meals, he has been coughing and hacking his brains out for the last 2 weeks and insisted it was just a cold, well turns out he is positive and the most likely suspect who exposed us, he now has a new oven and refrigerator and will be no longer be allowed upstairs.

The whole house will have to be sanitized along with all our vehicles after this is over, I'm having a professional service come in and do it.

The rest of my family, my younger son Charles, his wife and 2 sons are negative after attending my 70th birthday party on the 16th of January. I am so happy about that.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping this is as far as it will go, The Ct. State covid trackers call us everyday, monitor our progress, offer any assistance that we made need.

We are keeping ourselves hydrated, taking Adil/Tylenol for the pain, plus vitamin D and multivitamins (Centrum) recommended by our PCP's.

I will get tested again in 2 weeks along with my wife.

Thanks to those who offered advice and to all who responded.

I will try to keep in touch, right now we are both very fatigued and are sleeping a lot.
Stay Safe,
Jay

Wishing the speediest recoveries for all 3 of you!!

Last March (and May when he reopened) SWMBO had her two cataract procedures. Our opthamologist at the time said the N95 masks or any with a valve are absolutely useless. Only a couple of months back I saw the same message, albeit more officially if you can trust the internet. I believe there are N95 masks without the valve. Fluke Whisperer and you and yours, get well soon. After my first shot the other day I figure I have about ten or twelve days until I feel somewhat confident that if I do get it it would not put me in the hospital. Swmbo gets her second one Wednesday.
