Moldy gasket issue very easy fix, just leave the door open when unused. If you forget and close it, just run the "Clean Machine Cycle" and leave keep the friggin door open. Have had front loaders for a good 30 years now, won't go back.new machines suck...too little water....front loaders suck....watch gasket they get all moldy
Funny story. When our old machine was on "Life Support" 30 years ago, The Admiral noticed the ads for the "new" Maytag Neptune front loader and said, "I want that!" That was OK with me so I went into Sears which was one of the few dealers for them at that time. By the machine, they had a bunch of 5 gallon water jugs piled on a pallet, hyping about how much water you would save when using a front loader versus a tub machine.
The salesman starts espousing the beauty of the water saving, boasting a 20% savings, but I wasn't interested in anything more than getting a good price since I had Admiralty orders. HOWEVER, when I got my first water bill after the machine was installed I was pleasantly surprised that the salesman was just about spot on!! My normal 2 month bill at that time was ~$120, but as soon as the machine was up and running, the bill dropped and stayed ~$100!! Over the lifetime of that machine it really paid for itself in water savings!
