Job Gains Offer a Brighter Picture of the U.S. Economy

Employers added 531,000 jobs in October, a big improvement from the previous month and a sign of optimism as the latest coronavirus surge eases.

The American economy is showing renewed signs of life, with employers hiring workers in greater numbers than they have in months.

The Labor Department reported Friday that payrolls in October jumped by 531,000, the best showing since July. The gains were reflected in a broad variety of fields, led by restaurants and bars, as well as factories, offices and warehouses.

The improvements followed a late-summer lull caused by the latest coronavirus surge and by supply chain problems that have delayed shipments, hampered manufacturers and left gaps on supermarket shelves.

Business leaders and economists said October’s data pointed to faster growth in the final months of the year, especially with shoppers feeling bullish as the holiday season approaches.

Two death row inmates in Japan are taking legal action against same-day executions.
Prisoners on death row are only notified hours before they are to be executed. Capital punishment is conducted by hanging.
Their lawyer has argued such short notice was "extremely inhumane", local media said.
Rights groups have long criticised the practice, saying it affects the mental health of prisoners.
"Death row prisoners live in fear every morning that that day will be their last," said the lawyer for the two death row inmates Yutaka Ueda, according to a Reuters report.
"The central government has said this is meant to keep prisoners from suffering before their execution, but that's no explanation. Overseas, prisoners are given time to contemplate the end of their lives and mentally prepare."

One Hundred Million peeps out of work in this country, is that ???possible… cellfish…

OY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The quick and simple answer to your question is NFW and I do hope your post is of a rhetorical nature.

A quick use that brain that millions of years of evolution has gifted Homo sapiens would clear up that false premise of 100 million unemployed. It is TOTAL BULLCHIT and wherever you "read it on the internet" is total crap.

The TOTAL US population is ~329 million which includes kids, retirees, and other "unemployable" folks. If almost 1/3 of that, your quoted 100 million which is a 30% unemployment figure, were out of work you'd know it. Right now the published number is 4.6% unemployment.
