Finally splashed late yesterday afternoon, and put her through her paces on the shakedown cruise...flat calm conditions, so nice to be back. After about 20 minutes through the RPM range, it was time to set up and get used to the Rhodan that was installed over the winter with major help by fellow Amigo Koz. Calibrations and set up went by the book, and soon after we were "drifting" for fluke, aka Sea Robins. We only had lines in for about 1/2 hour, with my son hooking the first fish of the year. The trolling motor worked flawlessly, and I'm looking forward to spot locking some buck toothed big lipped reef donkeys! We found life in the 15-25 foot range, with a couple of short fluke coming up also.

Spot lock will open many avenues for you. Bass fishing has been great, stemming the tide and picking apart structure thoroughly. We were able to creep over some bars into 4 feet of water (turning off the main engine pretty far off) and hold that position and have bass following and eventually hitting plugs right up against the boat. We plan to do less drifting for fluke and a more concentrated casting and working small bucktails over structure.

Good luck and enjoy the season! Be well!
