Landscaping

I read after the fact that you should wait about 6-8 weeks after putting anything down to take a soil sample. I had a lime mixture put down on Oct 21st so that could explain some of the spikes.
Lime should only be applied after a soil test ? but your PH was good so I don’t think that had any effects

Last mow of the year. KBG/Rye mixture seeded on Oct 21. The front yard was ripped up more then the backyard was. Had an over abundance of crabgrass. The bare spots in backyard is what was ripped up the most. Definitely need a good over seed come Spring

Waiting for the ground temps to hit 55* and see some constant warm weather before I apply seed down. I know spring isn't ideal but my front lawn is looking bare. I also have to take down a dead tree in the front yard and decide what to replace it with.

I re-seed every spring and fall.
Take the tree down and replace before you seed so you don’t destroy what you already did

That’s a Weeping Cherry. They have an average healthy life of 15-20 years. Root system is not too big so you can dig out the whole stump, and plant another one.
Other trees that would do well there are Bloodgood Maple, paperbark Maple, Linden, Japanese Lilac tree, Redbud
Yea, I sent you the pictures and you said this one was way passed its life ??.. good to know I can dig out the root system myself and not call someone in to do it.
