Nothing too big. But there's bigger fish around. Took out a newbie from my club and got them on their first keeper.

took a frozen raspberry ice, put it in a tall glass after cutting it out of cup, splashed some club soda over it amd hit it with a good pour of kettle one.

should be sleepy time soon.

Yesterday while checking the map and making my plan for the GSB fest this week I was looking up all of those restaurants in patchogue and that place looks cool!

i believe if the barb points to the shank, it’s a circle hook… it’s easy to read in line… cellie…

Simple, an Octopus style hook is considered a J Hook variant and therefore is not legal for bait fishing for striped bass in states that mandate in-line circle hooks.

You got something saying an Octopus Hook IS a Circle Hook???

Bottom line if it's easy to hook a live mackerel by the dorsal fin, you've got an Octopus Hook. It's a real PITA to bait a Circle Hook because of the very small gap size.

I tried searching for it, and came up short, but @george posted a "Is It A Circle Hook?" quiz a few years ago. Hope he sees this and provides the link.
