So this literally directly across the bay from my neighborhood and our community marina that is on the bay

Southampton declares emergency as crews work to prevent breach of ocean into bay

Workers tried to fortify dunes Thursday near Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays, where Southampton's supervisor said ocean waves were "creating a bit of a river to the bay."

I agree 100% but not needed so close to the inlet we already have
Maybe somewhere halfway between shinny and moriches or moriches and fire island would be much better
