yup. Not much better west of that marine forecast. Heater or no heater, am closing the pool this weekend. Kayak fishing the backbay for 6 weeks has been abysmal, probably because one could walk on water (actually on the backs of all the peanut bunker!) Why eat my plastics ? Might paddle a few more times but its going to be surfcasting for me, than a 15 day Viking Cruise, to return to some more surfcasting and chasing Bambi's grandparents. Gorgeous day again here today, my last pool swim later.

Patchogue Bay is loaded with peanuts, and according to friends, fishing for weaks has been productive. For both parties, the bait guys and the plastic guys.

Not for me in my area. I sit and drift in the middle of countless explosions of peanuts breaking water with large snappers after them. Gulp getting bitten in half. Snappers got too large too soon for me to liveline on that healthy diet of bunker. Guess I got spoiled. Still eating fluke and weaks from 2022.

I asked and the snapper / blues have not been causing havoc on either.
