I tried those low temp solder/heat shrink butt connectors and they actually work (bought from Puerto Rico). Wonder how long they’ll last? I practiced with a few. Couldn’t get them apart once heated and half the width as regular butt connectors with heat shrink.

I used a heat gun just to see if it wouldn’t melt the plastic into goo as I’m bad with those crack lighting butane torches. I mean the solder didn’t disappear like with real heat but was not coming apart. If they stay water proof I’m happy. Wasn’t sure if those Chinese things got much play yet.

Been using them for yrs most of the time I solder/shrink wrap but those things are way faster Im assuming you used them for the bar swap?

Yeah, I never even seen them before this year.
Sunday was like the pinnacle of the year so far. I drilled a head off a frozen bolt on the clutch handle assembly (no body ever uses never-seize). Using penetrant and heat was able to get the rest out. 😍 Next thing is to figure out the tank lights. None work. The last to crap out was “N” Like to get them all back up so I don’t reach down to the petcock when it sputters to find out I already have it in reserve position. Think I’ll look at them this am. I know they have bulbs. No gas line work in rain has me off.

Bulbs could be the culprit

Check this sight out. They have every diagram like looking at Chiltons to find part. All bulbs were missing (pathetic) except the Neutral light. Put that light in turn position and worked. Tested the wire at bulb end, nothing. Then proceeded to get po’d. Can’t find the switch to test it. I was online looking for anything to show its location, all different. You’d think a wire going to tranny would be easy to spot. That sight is like repair manual schematic.

Going to Suffolk for bulbs, might as well get the switch anyways for what it’s worth.

Where price at? How does anyone justify $20-40,000 for a bike. I would have walked out with the black road king on the way to parts on the left yesterday if it wasn’t the cost of a VW Jetta. Half Chinese crap should be cheaper anyways.
Agreed the prices are outta control
