Finally, the "Perfect" Tide Clock...

So I’m trying to figure out why the blue light in the tide column, 1 light above the clock circle is staying on
I wonder if thats saying high tides are currently running lower than normal?

On the Ebb, the Bottom LED, be it Blue (Average), Green (just above/below Average), Orange (10% different from Average), Red (20% different from Average) will represent the level of the IMPENDING LOW TIDE, while the top LED is the level for the NEXT HIGH TIDE. So you've basically got a snapshot of the next 11ish hours of tidal situation.

Conversely, on the FLOOD, the Top LED is the level for the IMPENDING HIGH TIDE, while the bottom LED is the NEXT LOW TIDE.

BTW, each LED is about 1/20 of the Average Tidal Range, which works out to around 6" for me. These come out of MA so it's geared for big azz tides, unlike those seen on LI, especially the GSB.

Look for the Easter Egg on Memorial Day!!

Anyway, here's the manual!!! NexTide Manual

Full Moon Tonight, but check this tide schedule.
  • Extremely wimpy, but this time of year New Moon better than Full Moon. A "manly tide" moon tide will have a tidal range of almost 14'. Today's ~8' is neap tide status
  • The time of the AM/PM high/low tide is only 1 minute different, not the normal 15ish minutes
All the reason for ignoring your analog tide clock and getting something digital that pulls the data from the NOAA database, the reason I bought a NexTide...

Aside from the very cool appearance and factual information, I guess with the tidal swings in your area it does truly indicate when you can float or walk to your favorite spots.

BTW, the Memorial Day "Easter Egg" was really nice. I assume I can expect the same on Independence Day weekend, correct?

We noticed the festive Memorial Day colors as well
This week when it was showing higher than normal highs I kept my eye on the water in my local spot and was impressed by the accuracy!!
