Grillin & Chillin

My neighbor just brought me over Grilled teriyaki chicken breast she marinated it in buttermilk for a few days. Oh so tender and juicy

Wahlburgers were on sale. So I grilled up Wahlburgers. Medium rare, according to Weber and a number of other sources, 130°F.

If you're not familiar, this is one of those beef products gassed with carbon monoxide to make it look fresher. If you're aware of this, you know they tend to look undercooked because, you know, red. Really red.

I've discussed this many times with Mrs Avenger. Apparently not enough.

Very carefully preheated the grill, put them on a low temp setting with a timer. Used the Thermapen, monitored the temp frequently and turned them several times to get an even cook-thru.

When they were at temp, I pulled them off the grill and brought them in to rest. Go out and bank the grill. Do a bit of cleaning and come back in the house and she's pulling them out of the microwave.

"They were undercooked."

Next time, hers go on twenty minutes earlier and I'll serve them with a fheking hockey stick.
