Bilge Pump and other Boat Issues 2024

I would have renamed the thread The Roseanne Rosannadanna 2024 Boating Thread: IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING!!

Let's face it, how many times does EVERYTHING on the boat work properly? Owning a boat means being a master of workarounds, especially when one keeps her on a mooring or slip. If you can work around the issue, and it doesn't necessitate hauling out, the "Fix It When We Haul For The Winter List" begins.

Haven't had the "pleasure" of finding my flaws yet as she's sitting at the yard, uggghhhhhhh. Today or tomorrow, please Poseidon...

Good luck, and hopefully no "findings".

Yep
My motto is do it on land before launch or it will never get done
Obviously I can throw it back on trailer for important fixes but not every little nuisance that comes up during the season

Couple drinks and a floatie under your arms along with a quick swim will be fine. 8-)
Maybe mid June that would be Ok but not now😎
Honestly, if my waders weren’t full of pinholes I would have been able to throw them on and find a suitable spot to climb overboard at low tide and do what I needed to do

Same issue this year with bilge pump 🙈🙈😳😡😡🤬🤬🤬
Unfortunately not as lucky with wiggling and jiggling the wires as last year
Did same thing as last year checked fuse, switch connections behind the helm, every other visible connection but NADA
Float switch works fine
Is there any chance it’s the pump?
Seems unlikely since only 2 wires feed the pump
The pump shouldn’t care if the juice is coming directly from the battery or from the helm switch.
Seems to me it should be the point where helm switch and direct to battery wires come together ???

That’s my point/question
Pump works fine when triggered by float switch
I put in drain plug, added water to bilge, pump comes on when the float floats
Pump does not work when I turn on helm switch
Only power for pump is from helm switch?

Only power for pump is from helm switch?
Nope
It’s direct wired to battery from float switch so it can kick on when battery switch is off while boat not in use at slip
Helm switch works on demand when battery switch is on
Helm switch wiring and direct battery wire to float switch come together and go to pump

Jump out from helm switch see it it works
