That’s awesomeThe HOV (High-Occupancy Vehicle) lane access program for low-emission vehicles is ending on October 1, 2025, in New York, impacting the Long Island Expressway (LIE) HOV lane rules for drivers who previously had a Clean Pass sticker. This federal program allowed electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to use the HOV lane even with a single occupant, but Congress has not reauthorized it. Starting October 1st, these vehicles will need to meet the standard occupancy requirements (two or more occupants) to use the HOV lane.
Peeps ecstatic that all them cars gonna be taken out of the HOV lane and thrown back into the other 3 lanes to clog those up, slow down traffic, and add to commute times
Brilliant
