Are you hanging it up for the season or still fishing?

Wonder if the Capt will cancel🤔... Ambrose Bouy.

My area of the Western Sound (West of Rye and Matinecock Pt.) went from on fire (see photo) to not a tap in two weeks.
Yesterday i tried wrecks at 100' and 70' and rock piles at 40' and 35' and we had barely a sniff.
My boat gets pulled Saturday.
But first it's a trip on the Gypsea and a last run to Newport for Sunday.
Def my best blackfish season on my boat in terms of the number of 18" to 23" fish.
Let's see what happens over the weekend.
Then ski season starts!

Nice job! I had one short fish all day today. We are on our way in now. It was rough with the waves and trying to move the rod so you still felt bottom. Never went over 10 oz mind you. There was never a bite build up so it was far and few between. You'd get a little nibble here and there.

Picked up my son from Maritime last night, and started in that he wants one more shot.
After reading this, I gave him the news that we will keep the boat on the trailer. He wasn't thrilled to hear that even if we do find fish, they will be tiny toy togs, so lets take the decent weather on saturday and change lower unit oil, run the motors out of gas, fog the motors. remove the batteries, empty it out, power wash and cover her up.

The fun stuff your guests never see!! Lol
Don't forget the fuel stabilizer 😉

At the moment, Montauk is still on, but the winds went from "not too bad "earlier this week to "not to good" today. We shall see.
Fuel stabilizer goes in on every fill up, but over the winter I will shut off the fuel inlets and run the motors until they stall out so no gas is in the system. It takes a little while in the spring to squeeze the ball until they get fuel in the system, but this way I don't worry about old gas sitting in the motor.
