So true, but can you tie a bowline behind your back or blindfolded? It's one of my "super powers", a great show off move that's very, very useful when doing a sail change on a dark night in pitching seas when you can't be bothered to look down at what you're doing.

The only reason I can do that is a most amazing way a sailor taught me how to tie a bowline, one that doesn't have "The rabbit coming out of it's hole and going around the tree"...

I can tie them without looking. Never tried behind my back, but I don't see any reason why not.

I used to be able to do a "Flying Bowline." But I got out of practice because it's just not something one does often.
