What has the Government done to prevent another 9/11 from happening again ?

I was returning on Frontier Airlines from Dallas Fort Worth the other night and the Plane I was in flew right over the Freedom Tower and Manhattan . So creepy flying over that Freedom Tower thinking what happened almost 25 years ago.
You'd think they'd ban flights over Manhattan ?? Crazy! It got me wondering, what do they have to stop a plane from flying into the Freedom Tower or another tall building in NYC ? I did an Internet AI search and it said the Freedom Tower was heavily fortified to withstand an attack and NORAD closely monitors the airspace and has Fighter Jets ready to shoot down any unauthorized Plane that enters that restricted airspace.
What's to stop a Fully Loaded Plane taking off from Laguardia or JFK from crashing into another building in NYC ? We've seen crazy pilots purposely crash their Jets and kill everyone onboard. No way the Military scrambles fighters in enough time to intercept one of those suicidal pilots.
So why couldn't they program a Planes GPS so a plane could never be pointed and crashed into a building ? Maybe have transponders in all the tall buildings /Sensitive Gov't locations that communicate with Planes ??

I don’t know if it’s true but I have heard the Freedom Tower is armed 24/7 by the NYPD and is capable of taking out any aircraft that would attempt to crash into it.

No worries. They've created a multi-billion dollar bureaucracy that will give you a prostate exam to make sure your @$$ can sit in an airline seat, and generate revenue because you anchored too close to some random outlying drawbridge.

BTW, how do you think things will go when the grossly competent government uses those missile batteries on the Freedom Tower to shoot down a civilian airliner because it was a few degrees off course? It's not like they never land at the wrong airport, or on a taxiway, right?
