Henry Repeating Rifles

and then you can take a ride in the rear seat of a PD as there is no rifle or handgun shooting, not even .22s, on Long Island unless you are at a range. Shotgun and possibly air guns, although I have to look that up again to be certain.

how about self defense?

only in your own home (with some exceptions such as stopping an attempted murder, arson or rape and one better have one's ducks lined up well to avoid incarceration.) and of course the poor "my baby didn't do nuffin's" family will get an attorney and have your house and assets by next Christmas.

I found mine wasn't as accurate as my Marlin 60 or my Henry so I sold it pre "un"SAFE Act. (Like the day before it took effect.) I fear that with all the anti gun rhetoric and a Democratic state legislature that all semi-autos with a detachable magazine may have to be registered or even prohibited.

I sent my Henry Frontier in under warranty Monday. They acknowledged getting it Tuesday. That free shipping label they sent must have been for overnight delivery ! Curious and anxious to see how they go about fixing its "over fifty rounds and it becomes a jam-o-matic" tendency. Every firearm seems to have a favorite ammo, and although I use Remington Thunderbolts in my other Henry, a Marlin 60, and in three handguns, maybe the Frontier just can't "handle" them. Love the gun's smooth action and accuracy. I even sent the receiver off to skinnersights.com to have peep sights installed so I could do away with an ugly scope I had to put on for these old eyes. Peeps are so much more attractive than scopes on lever guns (IMHO anyway) and even offhand I was shooting decent groups at Mitchel Field's 28 yards.

I love my peep sight on my model 94 Winchester 30.30 I also have one on my semi 30.06 It was love the peep on it

Although I never use it, I am thinking about having them installed on my Marlin 336T in .35 Remington. One of these days I may get upstate with it for deer, but hunting on eastern LI is just too darn convenient for me.

Just a followup on the repair of my Henry Frontier .22:
I shipped it out on January 22 (free UPS label from Henry) and got it back on Tuesday the 5th. They replaced the bolt assembly, carrier and carrier lever, reamed the chamber, and even gave me new wood (stock AND forearm.) It had a dozen or so little dings from hot shell casings landing on it (probably from a handgun or two as I usually take a bunch to the range. They test fired it some as well although I had removed the rear peep for safer shipping. Wednesday I went to the Mitchel Range and fired 75 rounds through it without a hiccup. Attached target at 28 or 29 yards, peep sights. High left hits are unsupported offhand, rest were shot leaning on the shelf. All were fired quickly as I wanted to get the barrel more than just warm. Love the gun, love the company. Mitchel Range is just adequate, but I have always gotten the "discount", first for military and now for old fart. Can't do much better for four bucks an hour.
