the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

I just got mixed up about the time of year and driving over or taking the boat over? Are we talking in spring or now getting the clams?

Ah - Once floats are in I could kayak over for any tide, or truck over if I had to use the chest waders. If low tide is negative relative to MLW, I can use my knee high boots which make any walk a crap pile easier than the neoprene chest waders...

GREAT PARTY!!

Hey its Onacock what ya expect lol  ?

looks like you need a little welding done .....
Being that high up, I guess flooding is never a concern ?

Yeah, no one has a portable heliarc welder around here. Metal based epoxy did the job, but I just put an extra bit of security with Gorilla duct tape. It's not structural so no big concerns.

IF we get hit with a > 4' storm surge on a +11' over a MLW high tide, my pier could be under water. With climate change's impact on raising the temperature of the GOM, that may be a future concern. Right now when a major storm hits the 66 °F GOM water, they say, "WAAAAYYYYY TOO COLD, think I'll head east and ride the Gulf Stream over to Europe!!"

I’m at the western sound get together with guys like Jimmy Jaws, Sea Gypsy, TAUTOG , Big Red, Stevie Sox...Merry Christmas All! Cheers!
