This is not about you joe.
This is what is partly wrong with medicine. Ok he prescribed antibiotics, but what pathogen were they supposed to be fighting. Did you give blood so they can take a culture ? I'm guessing not. Dr's prescribe way too many abx without knowing what they are treating. Then the person feels better after a day or 2 maybe 3 so they stop taking it so they can save them for the next time. I am seeing more and more abx resistant bacteria and its gonna get worse.
Yesare you in the Medical Field?
Dont take this the wrong way but about 90% of sinus infections are viral not bacterial and as a result the abx are useless. Most Dr's prescribe abx "just in case" that is where the problem lies. Also if no fever abx should not have been prescribed.I understand, I’ve been going to him for the last 30 years. He knows if I call I an unscheduled appointment I’m suffering...He did a culture of the nasal passages, very uncomfortable. Doc beats me up every visit. But after lengthy evaluation he prescribed the antibiotics. It was for 4 days only. 2 the first day n 1 each day for 3 more days. I have 2 left n plan on taking them. It cost me 1.25.
This doctor actually got me off high blood pressure medicine 25 years ago thru diet n exercise. The bad news now is he’s thinking that I may have no choice but to start on them again.?He knows that my family has a history of hypertension. I said maybe not doc... could be stress. Some guy on my favorite website is always stressing me out!?
Thank you Dx life Rx fishing??
