Word from a friend of mine, who's buddy (who I know of) is a big executive at FB (sits in the same area as Zuckerberg): their working on a platform in collaboration with the WHO and CDC to track and monitor CV-19. They have some global infection rate/mortality etc... data sets that are being crunched and trying to make sense of it all. The dude said that the current trajectory indicates 10K plus US infections in the US by 3/21. The infection rate is doubling every 3 days. We are 10.5 days behind Italy. He said he hopes it is not true and that they are wrong.

I am not the least bit surprised by those predicted #'s
I cant help but wonder what the #'s actually are now if more peeps were tested??

This keeps reminding me of that Stephen King novel - the Stand.......

Anyone else read that?

His best book ever - think I read it 40 years ago.

Never fear, susceptible population: The expanding coronavirus is nowhere near as lethal as the flu strain that killed most of the world’s people in The Stand. We have that from a reliable source: Stephen King.

The prolific horrormeister wrote on Twiiter that the real disease — which has spread from China to six continents and more than 30 U.S. states — is “not anywhere near as serious” as “Project Blue,” the virulent superbug depicted in his 1977 novel The Stand. That strain of influenza was weaponized by the American government but accidentally released by a soldier who flees the lab where it was developed.

Another sobering read: ‘It’s Just Everywhere Already’: How Delays in Testing Set Back the U.S. Coronavirus Response

Before you start throwing darts at "The Government", it would be good to know that the government regulations that prevented a quick start of testing of the flu samples for corona virus were established as part of the HIPAA laws passed when Bill Clinton was president, so please don't poke at the current or previous administration...
