I picked up the Catalina 7.3 over the winter and just deciding which rod to pair it with. I have Shimano Trevala S XXL and was thinking this should make a good fluke setup for the bay. What do you guys think will this combo work well?

Of course! What’s not to like there? Those Trevala S rods are considered best buys. Great value for what Shimano asks. And your new reel was as close to a steal as you’ll ever find.

Back to my selection of Gosen 8X, here's a new vid from Nick/Tackle Advisors on Youtube discussing Gosen's next level up braid - 16X. He's all about this particular version. Wait til you hear the price!

Here is why the Zillion series of small baitcasters is the very best at cranking in a heavy load. I could have explained it, but pictures are worth a thous . . . well, you get my drift, I'm sure:

Have been really enjoying the Catalina I have to say. That is for the few times my fishing partner actually allows me a crank or two.

Goshen line has held up to fish, but I have popped it a few times shoring up leader to braid knots. We did know it was softer than most off the bat. I am still happy though.

I would most likely purchase a second Catalina to replace my other ambassaduer if the price didn’t go through the roof on them. Other than the Traps sale, the prices have steadily climbed to the $300 mark and then a big jump to $400 land.

I asked the Store from whom I purchased how since I purchased 1 did the price jump $70 in less than 10 minutes when I tried to purchase a second. He replied that his costs had gone up. Mind you once again it was less than 10 minutes. I had to carefully choose my words at that point so nothing was lost in translation during my reply.
