Coronavirus

Well they've locked down my mother's Independent Living facility until further notice. Not letting anyone in the place that lives outside of Virginia & can't pass a screening Q&A. So my brother & brother-in-law from CT can't get in to help with the move.

They'll have to stand outside & take it from us I think(?).

I’m very sceptical of of any information; positive or negative; coming out of China.

I'm very skeptical of any information; positive or negative coming out of Washington.

Trump said that there will be up to 5 million test kits for the novel virus, but also said: "I doubt we'll need anywhere near that."
"We don't want people to take a test if we don't feel they should be doing it," Trump explained, a week after asserting “anyone who wants a test can get a test.”
Testing in the U.S. continues to be slow, with less than 100 tests performed nationwide this week, according to the CDC.

I mean - WTF?!??!??!
100 tests?!?!??
This week?!!?!?
Nationwide?!??!

What the hell have they been waiting for?

For those of you that can't get disinfectants to kill of CV 19 - you can use Hydrogen Oxide. If Clorox Wipes & Lysol Wipes are gone (which pretty much seemed to be the case when I went looking for them) people seem to be overlooking hydrogen peroxide judging by what I saw on shelves today. They also make a wipe. OR you could pour onto a paper towel to wipe down surfaces.

Judging from the fairly substantial amount of HP on all the shelves - it is being bypassed.

Had a CVS Pharmacist tell me it would work & I just came across the below when I googled it:
Hydrogen Peroxide
According to the CDC, household (3 percent) hydrogen peroxide is effective in deactivating rhinovirus, the virus that causes the common cold, within 6 to 8 minutes of exposure. Rhinovirus is more difficult to destroy than coronaviruses, so hydrogen peroxide should be able to break down coronavirus in less time. Pour it undiluted into a spray bottle and spray it on the surface to be cleaned, but let it sit on the surface for several minutes.

Hydrogen peroxide is not corrosive, so it’s okay to use it on metal surfaces. But similar to bleach, it can discolor fabrics if you accidentally get in on your clothes. “It’s great for getting into hard-to-reach crevices,” Sachleben says. “You can pour it on the area and you don’t have to wipe it off because it essentially decomposes into oxygen and water.”

Just got a notice they closed down our Harborfields school district all next week. Didn’t say why specifically just out of an abundance of caution.
this is all so F’d up

Mr.D., I think it was worse after September 11, 2001... cellie...

I say at this point we might as well say screw it and go full fledge
Shut everything down for 2 weeks and hunker down and don't leave your house
After 14 days you either have it or you don't
If you don't great
If you do, off to the containment zone til you recover and and everyone else goes back about their business

I keep hearin' (mainly Fox News) comparing this to 9/11. That's the most ridiculous comparison I can think of. The dead & injured where known within a matter of days. And the death count is inevitably going to climb well above that of 9/11.

The financial impact of this is much greater then 9/11.

The number of people personally impacted by this is GREATLY larger then 9/11.

This just keeps going & going & going.

It is the most absurd thing I've heard.

Ohio estimating that there maybe as many as 100,000 people infected in that state - how does the healthcare system deal with those numbers?
