burned my usual 2+ cords - still have about a cord & quarter left...


Ran pretty much non stop since Halloween as well but started to taper off end of March/beginning April. Still burning occasionally to take the chill of & prevent the heat from coming on. I have another cord ready to come in for next year (unseasoned) but don't have the space in the wood shed for but maybe 3/4's of it. Gotta figure out where to put the other 1/4.

Just started a fire now. This chilly wind really sucks the heat out of the house. I too burned far less this past season. I have close to a cord left over. It looks like a couple more chilly days though so a fire at night will feel good.
 
Yeah, the last week or 2 week I scaled way back but woke up to a cold house a few mornings and fired it up again. The next few days will definitely keep it running.
looking back at what I typed a few minutes, wasn't very clear
3-1/2 cords still left unused for what was ready to burn this year plus 2 additional split this year gives me 5+ so far for next season

I just couldn't control myself yesterday
It was so nice out with a nip in the air and I had nothing else to do so I dragged out the splitter and split and stacked half a cord+
Took my time and was was very careful to to hurt myself LOL

If any of you guys need a new stove , epa regulations change on may 15th on new wood stove emissions and all non compliant models have to be sold or junked if not sold by that date. I have a few I need to get rid of ( I'm a fireplace dealer) a few in my store and can get more if people want . High end stuff at 50 percent off list maybe better . Only a tight time window left. Just saw this thread seeing if anyone was catching blackfish lol. Figured I would throw it out there.

I'm assuming you are referring to stoves not yet sold or installed by that date and is doesn't effect stoves installed and in use for years correct?
Mine was purchased and installed about 5-6 years ago and at the time was deemed efficient on emissions.
I'd also like to know where you are for more info....

This is a BIG friggin deal up here. Old stoves now at a premium and approaching being worth their weight in gold...

I'm in Copiague? Captain Soot. We are not really open because of this damn virus stuff but I can meet people individually at the shop. The epa rule does not affect stoves that consumers already own only what can be sold as new. I have a few freestanding models here I need to sell. A vermont castings defiant in enamel finish, a napoleon s4 and a Vermont castings encore. I have some other stoves and inserts available through distribution channels that need to sell as well ( at least I'm not stuck with them) but I can have shipped to peoples houses directly. Most are half price right now.

Are they putting catalytic converters on them ore something?

Been thinking about an insert for mom's house. Maybe it's time to take the plunge.
