Coronavirus

Well, I do not agree fully with some of what you said. As far as accountants, they still need to pass a tough test NOT controlled by universities. And trust me, there skills are evaluated pretty quickly in the workplace.

I am sure it would be the same for the other professions mentioned.

On the other hand, I did hear that new doctors (in various states) had their licenses expedited because of the sheer need for physicians.

So here is my thought. If that young new doctor thrown into the fires of this pandemic survived both physically and mentally and was commended by their peers, well I would be more than confident and honored to have that person as my doctor.
Yikes. "And trust me, THEIR skills are evaluated pretty quickly in the workplace." Oops!
This shelter at home thing got the best of me! :)

I beg to differ on the ones you mentioned. Maybe some others, but not those.

My worry is the kids from K-12.

ok I agree on maybe some others

and on k to12 I’m in complete agreement wife teachs k to 5
And 1st hand it’s not working in the schools in impoverished areas
May work better in ups scale areas but my wife’s schools kids are struggling badly

Maybe some one can explain this to me.
Supermarkets, walmart,home depot,lowes,liquor stores,
pot stores,7/11,quick chek to name a few all remained open the entire time.
I wonder how many of their employees have become ill or died.
Seems to me if these employers can manage to keep their
workers safe why can't every other store or business do the same.

I’ve wondered the same thing

and if the entire population of the city state and country can filter through these locations en mass like they do
What’s the difference if they go from the grocery store to the clothing store or hair salon
The store clerk and hair dresser just left the wall mart anyway

this is nothing more than absolute stupidity and the scariest part of all is the number of ppl here on this site and throughout the state willing to play along with it
Because the fantasy makes them feel safe

Here’s an even better one
You can take a trip on an 80 foot ferry from the highlands to nyc and back
And a 60 foot water taxi from brooklyn to nyc and back

but you can’t get on a 75 foot party boat
Kinda makes you go hmmm

Not to be a grump.... and I appreciate the front line people who do their jobs in the face of this epidemic but please....can we give these vehicle parades a break already.

And if I see one more person on TV at home singing a song and playing a guitar IM gunna smash it over their head.

ooofah

Enough already.

Im done

News Flash, 33 million Americans out of work, that’s sum serious numbers... it’s gonna cause damage...

Guess I was wrong at odds wit Mr. Wader, comparing CV to September 11... surely this CV is worse than that time nearly 20 years ago.., but the vision of the Twin Towers crashing is unforgettable... cellie...

Tony - i think we all know your position on this thing by now. Why not give it a rest before you blow a blood vessel or something?

One of my partners was approached by a person in an impoverished school district where they were struggling to keep the education going. My IT director was able to round up and re-purpose 25 laptops from our office to donate to that school district in our area. We are hearing the stories.

Was just on a ZOOM conference meeting with the Town Council & Mayor for Onancock. The VA Governor has decided to allow Virginia to open up into Phase 1 tomorrow. My County is petitioning the Governor to opt out of the opening delaying it to June 15 due to the high number of cases. Based on cases per capita we are third highest in the Commonwealth. A Hot Spot. Even more so if the numbers resulting from 2 wide spread outbreaks at two chicken processing plants operated by Tyson & Perdue are added to the numbers. Presently they are not. There was no reason given as to why. It did sound somewhat suspicious. Without those numbers being added my county already accounts for 2.6% of all of the cases in Virginia.

The meeting was to receive Public Comment prior to the Town Council voting to join the County in delaying opening into Phase 1 or proceed to open with the rest of the Commonwealth.

After a lot of discussion & back & forth - the motion failed to pass by a vote of 6 to 8.
We are opening under Phase 1 guidelines as of tomorrow.

I didn't agree with the outcome especially in light of the "Chicken Numbers" not being included in the overall counts. God only knows where that would put us as compared to the rest of the State. Something like 2,000+ people work in those two plants.

when you air them over, and over, and over again every day it becomes redundant, serves no purpose & only erodes your position - that is all I'm saying
"There goes crazy Tony again."

I actually like the back and forth exchanges
Sure they get heated at times but that’s fine
And sure it’s pretty easy after all these years to know where a lot of us stand on many issues

and once any topic has this many pages we all know where everyone’s head is at

such is the nature of an intra net chat site

most only crazy if you disagree with it

you’d be surprised how many agree but are to afraid of the backlash from the snowflakes to speak up

I realize I’m in the minority but it’s more than you would think

and if you look around the world , even your community is coming around to the fact that
Lives matter but so do the economics
