Coronavirus

The state of New York averages 141 deaths per 100 thousand . At the present time the state of Florida average is 15 per 100,000. Andrew Cuomo has no right giving anybody any advice. Florida's population is the same size and twice the average age. Could be worse but NY started to run out of its most vulnerables.

Don't forget the tax burden vs. population too. ?

I looking at these restaurants struggling tonight for customers, da city is allowing for curb/street tables, unfortunately weather is bad, this very sad... cellie...

We have done takeout getting multiple meals each time, at least 8 or 9 times so far. SWMBO wanted me to just pick up some burgers and fries at the local "All American" in Matzohpizza but I turned her down as masks and distancing don't seem to be the norm there. PBJ on a Saturday night (groan) as we could not agree on an alternate. AA has been there since 1963, still same family owned. They will survive without me.

Surprised you would stay somewhere you hate so much. Paying all those taxes. Such disdain for your local leaders.
Disdain is to mild a term for the way I feel about progressive politicians or those that vote for the

sadly I’m long past the point of no return

Family and retirement goals force me to remain in this putrid cesspool

Did you guys know the FDA just approved a drug that reduces your chance of transmitting COVID-19 by 5X?

It’s trade name is called Wearamaskasshole. Side effects include mild inconvenience, possible victim complex, fear of people thinking you are a sheeple, being ostracized by your anti-vax plandemic bros, and the power to stop your own asymptomatic transmission as this country stubbornly dives right on into that second wave, never really exiting the first one.

Check with your doctor, or really anyone, to see if Wearamaskasshole is right for you.

Copied from a friend.

I deleted my post yesterday out of fear that someone would try to find something wrong with the numbers I reposted and discredit my experience.

I wish I hadn't, because I had people tell me they didn't know it was that bad. Sharing my experience opened someone's eyes.

Why is it that i can guess your political affiliation by how you react to mask wearing? This has become a political mess. *This seems to warrant further explanation - most of the ridicule and mockery I’ve received has been from one side, that being said - everyone can do better, including me*

I beg you to reconsider.

I'm tired of random people telling me I'm over-exaggerating our ICU numbers or how many COVID patients we are seeing. I'm tired of people not giving a crap because they personally don't know anyone who has tested positive, so therefore it's not a big deal.

Healthcare workers have been hung up to dry by our community, silenced by people who feel privileged enough to "exercise their rights" and go enjoy themselves at a bar bursting at the seams with like-minded people.

Negligent people who believe that since they found a few videos of doctors that held their beliefs, they would prove us wrong about wearing masks.

I wear a mask for 12 hours. So do my coworkers. We wear respirators that dig into our faces so hard we come home with bruising and sores.

You know what you anti-maskers don't see besides your own ignorance?

Overflowing ICUs.

People dying ALONE. And their spouse of 40 years says goodbye via Facetime.
People begging you not to let them die as they gasp for air.
Patients that come in stable one day and by your next shift they are dead.
Patients lying on their front side on a ventilator because proning is the only thing we can try.
One family member with their hands on the glass staring into their dad's room with desperation and tears. They can't go in. They have 15 minutes to look from outside.
Healthcare workers that go home at night and have nightmares. And panic attacks. And anxiety.

You cannot begin to comprehend the chaos that is ensuing at valley hospitals right now.
You know what you can do to help us? Wear a fuc*ing mask. Learn how to wear one properly. Don’t touch it. Don't go out to crowded places for extended periods of time. Be more careful.

You will not get hypoxic from wearing a surgical mask for an hour while you shop. You will not have high co2.
Is it that difficult? And maybe stop discrediting our experiences. The point of slowing the spread is so that our hospitals don't experience what we are experiencing NOW.

We have utterly failed, because people are more worried about proving that they don't have to wear a mask or stay home from the bar.

Stop choosing a side for one second and look at what's really happening. It's not lies. Get over yourself.

We don't care about being called heroes. We care about the lives of people.

**The overwhelming support has blown me away. To clarify, I am a respiratory therapist. Working hard with my fellow nurses to give our patients the best care. We don't want to see you here. Your support helps ease the anxiety of coming home from this nightmare to two kids under 2 years old. Thank you from the bottom of my heart**
