Coronavirus

Easy to enforce in a place like Hawaii where everyone flys in, but in a state like NY planes, trains & automobiles I’ll call it impossible. John
And whats to stop someone from FLA or TX or one of the hot spots from flying to NY indirectly. maybe take a flight to BWI in Baltimore, hang there for a day or 2 and then hop a flight to NY. I doubt that what be detectable either

He told the nursing homes to keep the covid 19 patients in order not to overwhelm the already overloaded hospitals. If they felt they could not handle them the state would. Sounds like a choice!!!

They didn't believe they had a choice, and your hero ceratinly didn't make that clear. The wording of the order makes it pretty apparent that they "Must accept".

It's interesting that the order has been pulled from the state's website and Cuomo effectively tried to deny the language of the order and blame it on Trump.

In Maine, hoteliers have to have out of state guests fill out an affidavit that they've quarantined for 2 weeks or have a recent negative COVID-19 diagnostic test. Needless to say they're just tickled pink about that...

needless to say - it isn't worth the paper it's written on - they just traveled there - no one's going to say yes & spend the 1st two weeks of vacation (if not the whole vacation) in quarantine

Imagine you were born in 1900.

When you're 14, World War I begins and ends when you're 18 with 22 million dead.

Soon after a global pandemic, the Spanish Flu, appears, killing 50 million people. And you're alive and 20 years old.

When you're 29 you survive the global economic crisis that started with the collapse of the New York Stock Exchange, causing inflation, unemployment and famine.

When you're 33 years old the nazis come to power.

When you're 39, World War II begins and ends when you're 45 years old with a 60 million dead. In the Holocaust 6 million Jews die.

When you're 52, the Korean War begins.
When you're 64, the Vietnam War begins and ends when you're 75.

A child born in 1985 thinks his grandparents have no idea how difficult life is, but they have survived several wars and catastrophes.

Today we have all the comforts in a new world, amid a new pandemic. But we complain because we need to wear masks. We complain because we must stay confined to our homes where we have food, electricity, running water, wifi, even Netflix! None of that existed back in the day. But humanity survived those circumstances and never lost their joy of living.

A small change in our perspective can generate miracles. We should be thankful that we are alive. We should do everything we need to do to protect and help each other.

This message should reach everyone. Please help me spread it.

how shocking you think that!!! lol!!!

Cuomo's executive order on the nursing homes — which was intended to free up hospital beds for the most critical COVID-19 patients — was reversed on May 10.

At least he took action and acted like a leader unlike that POS that claimed it was all a HOAX

Sycophant. ?

There is no way to discuss this without touching on politics.

Aye, there's the rub. Some folks and some elected officials have decided to make a significant global pandemic a political issue in the US. The virus could give a flying cluck at a rolling donut about one's political affiliation.

Once that is recognized and acknowledged, there is no politics, just basic epidemiological principles of public health running headlong into economic realities, these are the Yin and Yang of a pandemic, not if you pledge allegiance to Donkeys or Elephants...
